City by the Bay: San Francisco

Four days in San Francisco and a detour to Yosemite, Lombard Street, the Golden Gate from four different angles, and a lot of walking.

Four days covering San Francisco end to end, with a side trip out to Yosemite in the middle.

Day 1

Stops: Lyon Street Steps, Broadway Street, the Palace of Fine Arts, original Ghirardelli ice cream, Lombard Street, Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, a bay cruise, the Ferry Building, Chinatown, Union Square, City Hall, and the Painted Ladies

Day 2

Stats: 6.0 miles walked · 5 hours of driving · parked near Marshall's Beach

Meals: Breakfast at Round House Cafe · lunch at In-N-Out · dinner at Palamuru Grill

Stops: Golden Gate Overlook, the Golden Gate Observation Deck, another viewpoint on the bridge, Battery Spencer, Crissy Field Overlook, Marshall's Beach, Lands End Lookout, Sutro Baths, the USS San Francisco Memorial, a drive through Golden Gate Park, the 16th Avenue Tiled Steps, Twin Peaks, Facebook HQ, and Stanford University

Day 3

Day 4

Meals: Krispy Kreme for breakfast · Beach Chalet Brewery and Restaurant for lunch · dinner somewhere in the airport

Stops: A full loop through Golden Gate Park: the Conservatory of Flowers, Robin Williams Meadow, the National AIDS Memorial Grove, the California Academy of Sciences, the Shakespeare Garden, the Japanese Tea Garden, and Strawberry Hill, then the fire pits at Ocean Beach before heading to the airport.
